Chase has arrived!!

Most of you have probably heard about the experience we had bringing Chas into this world, but just in case I'll give you a little recap.
My doctor was going out of town on Wednesday and my due date was Friday the 8th of June so he desperately wanted me to have the baby before he left so he could deliver him. With this in mind, he had me come in on Monday to have my membranes stripped to hopefully start the process. Well, Wednesday came and gone which meant my doctor would not be delivering my baby. The next day I woke up at 5:30 am having contractions that were 10 minutes apart but we learned from our class that we shouldn't go to the hospital until they were at least 5 minutes apart. We decided to have Chris go to work to try to get a few things done and that I would call him if anything changes. My mom and I started walking around the block to get things going and Chris joined us not long after...he had a hard time being away knowing his wife was in labor.  Around 1:00 or 1:30 the contractions had progressed enough so we decided to head to the hospital.
I was pretty calm at first as we waited to see if I was dialating any more, but that was short lived as my contractions started getting more intense and at that point the epidural couldn't come soon enough!

Once I had the epidural it was smooth sailing! It became a waiting game at that point just waiting for things to progress. Notice how everyone has their phones in their hands......we were pretty bored at times.
I finally progressed to the point where it was time to push and I did for almost two hours! Chase was not coming down even after they used the vacuum and my fever was raising so we finally decided to have a c-section. Chase did not have an easy entrance into this world, that's for sure but he finally entered on his due date at 1:58 a.m., weighing in at 6'14" and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Chase had a rough start in life as well when some tests came back elevated indicating that he had some type of infection. They were treating him for pneumonia and were originally going to keep him in the hospital for 7 days but he is amazing and got better and was able to leave with us a couple days later.
