We took our first road trip as a family to St. George over conference weekend because Chris ran in the St. George marathon. I was a little worried about the ride down there with Chase but he did amazing, we were so proud of him. We stopped twice, once to fgeed him and another time just to get out and stretch. Chase was so happy when he could get out of his carseat and look around, he even got to sit in the front seat with his dad and loved it!
Our friends Joe and Linnea Tullis also went because Joe was also running in the marathon. Their brother in law has a condo down there so we were able to stay with them, we had a lot of fun!
The night before the race we made pasta so the boys could load up on carbs and Linnea threw a piece of pasta on the cupboard to see if it was done and it formed a man running. It was AWESOME!! I couldn't even make that up!
We made a couple posters but only got a pic of one of them with Chase. His cousin Eden is holding him and the sign.
Here are a bunch of pics of Chris and his brother after the race. We are so proud of him, he finished in 3 hours and 41 minutes! AMAZING!!
I love this pic of Chase as we were waiting for Chris to come across the finish line, he looks so serious.
We couldn't go to St. George without stopping by grandpa's house. I love my grandpa!
On the way home, the sun was blaring right into Chase's carseat and if I shut his cover then it got really hot in there, so Chris had the brilliant idea to hang the blanket over the seat to prevent the sun from getting in. We basically built a fort in the car, it was pretty awesome!
We also went for a drive while we were there to a Snow Canyon look-out. It was SO pretty!
If I had just ran a marathon, the last thing I would want to do is anything except lay in my bed, but Chris only rested for a little bit and then was ready to go. He amazes me! He wasn't really sore the next day either and I never heard him complain. I was really impressed, I sure love him!

Awesome-- good job Chris! Chase is such a cutie pie!
